The recent-ish shops opened by creatives are waaaaaaaaay more interesting than the places of previous account managers/CEO’s. Look at the websites for confirmation. It’s genuine work verses long paragraphs about process with poor work or nothing to show. In agencyland creatives will often lose the politics game, the heart on sleeve just doesn’t work, but look how creatives have responded with their own ventures, some even outside of the industy too, again producing the goods, not talking about it. This doesn’t mean creatives should be arrogant, no excuse for this. But understand this, no matter the politics of where you work, many examples point to the true power being with you. Just don’t be a dick about it.
