Tabletop production company Tasty Pictures welcomes the Cinebot Mini robotic arm

Cementing its position as the premier motion control production offering in Australia, Brisbane based tabletop production powerhouse Tasty Pictures has recently welcomed the Cinebot Mini robotic arm to complement its current BOLT Robotic Arm and Model Mover offering.

Developed by UK based robotic industry pioneers Mark Roberts Motion Control, the Cinebot Mini will be the first of its kind available worldwide, allowing even more creators the ability to capture shots with the movement and precision of robotic technology. The Cinebot Mini is a more agile and user-friendly robot than its larger BOLT counterparts, offering greater portability (it fits into a van), automated focus tracking, industry standard integrated Flair software, a more economical price point entry for daily hires, plus the ability to run on battery (no need for three phase power).

These benefits all combine to make the Cinebot Mini the perfect robotic companion out on location and away from a traditional studio location, pushing it beyond a simple tabletop tool.

On why clients will love this new wave technology, Tasty’s lead motion control operator, Brendan Isaac says: “The Cinebot Mini is a new lightweight industrial robot arm allowing for all the same creative flexibility and technological prowess of the Flair software as the larger BOLT, but in a smaller package. The Cinebot Mini can be packed up and put in the belly of a plane or the back of a van, run on normal domestic house power or even batteries. It is also the first robot that can integrate with traditional camera movement platforms such as dollies. The Cinebot Mini loves a location move and can be ready to shoot in approximately half an hour of arriving at a location and even allows the operator to manually find keyframe positions by back driving the arm into different positions.

“Robots are such powerful tools for filmmakers that new limits are being defined for what is actually possible”.

In addition to cutting edge motion control robot technology and internationally trained motion control operators, Tasty Pictures brings to the fore its specialist team of world class tabletop directors, DP’s and food stylists.

Tasty Pictures is part of The Taxi Group, a collection of specialist production offerings, bringing excellence to screen of all sizes.

The Taxi Group is spearheaded by its flagship brand, Taxi Film Production.
